NRS PAY card processing Card payments that land in the same report as your sales.

NRS PAY is the payment side of the NRS system. The total goes from the register to the reader by itself, so nothing is keyed and nothing is mismatched. Signing up also gets you a free EMV card reader and lower software prices.

Questions

About NRS PAY

Will I pay less than now?

Show Dipendra a recent processing statement for a side-by-side comparison with NRS PAY. You decide after seeing the numbers.

Do I have to use NRS PAY with the POS?

The Cheetah and Panther systems require it; the Puma doesn't. Software plans are cheaper with NRS PAY either way.

Is there a contract?

NRS advertises no long-term commitment and no early-termination fee, but processing is under an NRS agreement, and leased equipment must be returned in working condition (NRS charges $350 per device if it isn't). Dipendra goes through the terms before you sign.

What are NRS PAY's processing rates?

Clean Rate: 2.49% + 10¢ card-present, 3.49% + 10¢ keyed, plus a $10 monthly fee. Cash discount plan: $49.95/mo, or $0/mo above $18,000 in monthly card sales. EBT Unlimited: $49.95/mo with $0 per EBT swipe. (NRS list prices, October 2026.)

Is a cash discount program legal in Texas?

Texas law allows a lower price for paying with cash when it is offered as a cash discount rather than a surcharge on cards, and card network rules add their own requirements, such as clear signs and both prices shown. NRS's cash discount plan is built that way. Confirm the current rules for your situation with your processor or an advisor.

What is the difference between dual pricing and a surcharge?

With dual pricing (a cash discount), the register and the shelf show two prices, and customers paying cash get the lower one. A surcharge adds a fee on top when someone pays by card. Card networks and several states treat the two differently, which is why NRS's program is set up as a cash discount.
